Lillian Cuchetti/Conti is know in the NSB/Edgewater community for the last 35 years, as an outstanding operatic soprano soloist - choir and music director, organist and pianist, sacred music liturgist, and an extremely gifted and talented piano and vocal teacher.
Mother of ten talented children, Mrs. Cuchetti herself was discovered as a "child protégé" at the age of ten years. She was taught by Maria Arata Guerra of the Michigan Opera Company, which Mrs. Cuchetti appeared in, and Avery Crew, vocal coach for many Metropolitan Opera stars. She studied at the Detroit Conservatory of Music, attended world famous Cass Tech High School (soprano soloist) and has pursued studies in piano - organ - voice - choral - drama - ballet - and instrumental. She has successfully taught many of these disciplines for over 45 years.
As choir director, her sacred music groups appeared in Italy at St.Peter's Basilica in Rome at the main altar celebration. Her popular music choirs appeared on the national choral circuit with Pat and Debbie Boone and for fifteen years with her own Conti Family Singers, with Danny Thomas, Art Linkletter, Mike Douglas and many other national stars.
As Founder of the Cuchetti School of Music and the Performing Arts, she continues to provide this community, the gift of music. Her love, patience, understanding, concern and interest for students (children and adults alike!) and passion for music, will continue to provide a wonderful opportunity to individuals in our community, wishing to make music.
Since her retirement as an instructor, Lillian has remained an active musician in the community. To this day, Mrs. Cuchetti still believes: "Your Best Is Always Good Enough!"
