The Cuchetti Family
For Detroit born Dick and Lillian Cuchetti, founders of the Cuchetti School of Music, music is a way of life. Prior to making home in the New Smyrna/Edgewater area in 1974, the Cuchetti family spent 15 years on the road as singers, called the Conti Family Singers. They were the warm up act for Danny Thomas at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas and traveled in their Greyhound Bus RV similar to the old TV show the Partridge Family. Winters were spent In New Smyrna and summers throughout the Midwest and East featured at Conventions and big Shopping Centers for grand openings.
Eventually in 1983, as the Conti Family ‘retired,’ and embarked on their passionate journey to bring music to as many people in our community as they could.
The Cuchetti School started in 1984 and the Indian River Institute for talented and gifted students in 2007 as a 501 (3)©) non-profit scholarship program.
The Cuchetti – Conti Family has changed the lives of thousands of students that have passed through their doors. Many, that would have otherwise never recognized their talent, have gone on to college scholarships, successful careers, and state, national and international recognition.
