James Duchon (guitar) received his Bachelors of Education (Music Education) degree from the University of Toledo in Ohio, and has taught since 1996, at the K-through adult level. James is classically trained but is also well versed in several styles of music, including Classical, Spanish, Rock, Pop, Jazz, and Blues.
Mr. Duchon has front line experience playing these musical styles with professional working bands. He has also developed guitar, percussion, and choral programs in these various styles. He can perform finger style or with a guitar pick.
As a former public school teacher since 1996, James left the public school setting to pursue his passion of performing as a musician as well as working privately with guitar students.
James works well with students of all ages. He currently teaches guitar lessons to students whose ages range from 8-60 yrs old. His passion for music encourages positive feelings, promotes self-confidence, and emphasizes successful learning for his students. He works closely with each student to develop a repertoire that is fun for the student and also one that challenges them to become a better musician. He has an attention to detail that he expects his students to master. His passion for music influences his students greatly.
Some of James' favorite musical artists include: Van Halen, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Sting, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Carlos Santana.
